Understand your Emotions and Use Them for your Advantage

Maybe this will come as a shocker, but I have to tell you: emotions are your friend, not your enemy. I know it’s a friend hard to understand, but it only wants our well-being. We will discuss how we can understand this friend with tantrums and how to control it for our own good.

Understand the lesson behind your big emotions and ignore the small ones

Emotions are a teacher!

But only when we talk about big emotions. Those feelings that are unshakable, that keep us awake at night and motivates us into doingUnderstand your emotions and use them for your advantage something. Those feelings that show off in a time of deep calmness and mindfulness. Those emotions that make you go like: “this is how I want to be, this is how I want my life to be!” These are the big emotions and are very important. Also need to count the painful emotions that make us cry and feel pain because they have important messages and lessons to give.  They teach us and direct our course in life. Big emotions are the energy giver of human life and the greatest teacher.

If you miss somebody very much that means you love that person and you should do all it takes to make him / her part of your life. If you really want something so much, that you can’t stop thinking about it, that’s your dream that you need to pursue. Doesn’t matter if it’s a luxury car, mansion or trips around the world. If something makes you hurt that means it’s something you should avoid in life, because it goes against your dream life. Maybe it sounds too simple, but it is just like that. People have different standards when it comes to life. What gives me pleasure can make someone else get hurt / unfulfilled and vice versa. Because it’s just our soul’s way to guide us: that is good and that is not so good.

Small emotions are those that are temporary. A bit of boredom, sadness, fear or anxiety, these emotions are most of the times insignificant. These are born from thoughts and warnings that our mind tries to send, or simply a lack of dream and purpose in life. And all disappear when love, happiness, peace, courage and fulfillment comes along.

Try to shift the point of view to have good emotions

Sometimes there are things in life we can’t control. We can’t control the outside world all the times, but the inside world we control it always. So, if you are facing a situation that is difficult and you can’t do anything about it, just change the way you feel and think about it.

I know there are some tragedies that are hard to even accept the fact there is a good side to it. But human nature has always proved that is capable of finding strength even in the hardest times. Finding that motivation to turn the way you see life. Taking a situation as it is, not making it worse, and commanding yourself to change into a better person just because you faced that experience.

That is the only difference between a loser and a winner. A loser sees roadblocks and a winner sees trampolines.  The first one sees an end and the winner sees a beginning. It’s all about the philosophy of life. Of course, we can’t have perfect sweet like heaven life. Ok? It’s meant to be hard. That’s why it’s Earth. But it’s also meant to make you stronger, more loving, more compassionate, more resourceful, wiser. You never learn something from a winning. You won, you already mastered that. Nothing new there. But in losses are precious lessons, don’t be afraid to learn them.

Use your hurtful emotions as an energy source

Now is the best part. We won’t cover good emotions because of course, those motivate you into taking action. But wouldn’t be cool if we could learn to use our painful emotions as a battery also? The fact is we can use hurtful emotions as an energy.

Rule nr 1: Don’t try to put it out. Our emotions are like a fire but don’t even think you can put it out. That’s a lie! It’s like a volcano, and the more you try to cover it up the more powerfully will explode its way out. That’s why addictions are so bad for our future. Because all they try is to put out emotions, and that will never happen. What happens is that the number of emotions grows inside of us, the pain becomes unbearable and can even make us lose our mind. Not to mention that all those valuable lessons sit there “unread”.

Rule nr 2: You can’t always change a situation, but you can always change how you feel about it. That’s because you can’t change the intensity of the fire but you CAN change its direction. Feel me? You basically redirect your volcano into something constructive. Doesn’t matter what caused that volcano inside, you can totally control how you are going to use it. And it’s so amazingly powerful. How many times have you felt something so hurtful that changed your life? You said: “I will NEVER allow this to happen again!”, and it never did. You raised your standards, you changed, you redirected that volcano into shaping yourself.

Other people use the emotions to get motivated for a hobby, for success. For example, I’ve been working out since the age of 14 because when I was young I grew up beaten up by my step dad, and I had to do something to remove that fear. So I focused on becoming as strong as I can physically be. I don’t need to mention that I’ve never been bullied again. 😁

You also see all the time examples of people who, after losing a dear person because of a disease, they turn around their pain and make a foundation to help other people with the same affection. They manage to transform something negative and hurtful into something positive. This right here is the secret of life, the secret of happiness and success. Turning around the situation and making it positive from negative.

How can you turn something in your life from negative to positive, right now? Leave a comment below and let’s talk.
